We are pleased to share that we have been awarded £1,000 from the Inspire Fund, provided by York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority, to deliver welfare benefits advice to people with sight loss in Ryedale as part of our Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) service.

This funding has enabled our Community Engagement and Wellbeing Officers, Vicky and Jenny, to undertake specialist training in delivering welfare benefits advice. As a result, they are now better equipped to support people at our regular drop-in sessions held in Malton, Pickering, Kirkbymoorside and Helmsley.

Vicky Shaw, Community Engagement and Wellbeing Officer at Sight Support Ryedale says, “It’s amazing to be able to offer benefits advice and help people access the financial support they need and to see the real difference it makes in their lives.”

Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) service

Our IAG sessions are free to attend and offer a friendly, welcoming space where you can drop in for support with no appointment needed.

While welfare benefits advice is a key focus, we can also help with:
• Debt and money management
• Housing and accommodation support
• Social care advice and signposting
• Help with completing forms
